Another project done: Carry Cottage

Unfortunately no story this morning, but I think this is way better, than a story. Welcome to to CC Lane, a very short street off the Village square in Sugarbush Valley. As you are aware, housing is a problem throughout the whole of Sylvania and Mayor Hugo had the same trouble in his beloved Sugarbush. But together with his Townplanner, Sydney Hazelnut, and Builder, Alonzo Macavity, they came up with this plan: a street dedicated to tiny cottages, just big enough for a small family. It was quick to built and the families living in them has a space to call their own, though small, and it is equipped with all the amenities they might need.

Let's take a walk.

The first Cottage belongs to the Patches family.

After a rough few years in France and then living with Dorothy's niece and her family, the Henry-Lloyds, Antonio and Dorothy was ecstatic to finally have their own place.

The Kitchen

The Bedroom (with en-suite bathroom)

Finally Dorothy has her own kitchen where she can prepare delicious meals for her family.

Antonio likes the bedroom most, wonderfully cosy, with enough space for everything.

The second Cottage is where they Petite family live.

Though Margaret never complained, Pete soon realised after Halley birth, that they can't stay in Hugo's study anymore. As luck would have it, a week later Alonzo finished the second cottage on CC Lane and another week later the Petites moved into their own cottage.

The Kitchen

The Bedroom

Even though the rooms are still small, finally Margaret can keep everything tidy and in it's place, something which was impossible in the small study at Beechwood Hall.

Pete appreciates the privacy they now have at bath time.

The third Cottage

Andrey and Blanka feel very privileged to have found a house in Sugarbush so soon.

The Kitchen

The Bedroom

Blanka loves cooking and preparing food in her convention oven.

Andrey enjoys the peace and quiet at bedtime with no mother-in-law around, to interfere.

I hope you liked the introduction of CC lane.

Which Cottage is your favorite?

(Once again this post was made possible with the help of Sylvanako, who stitch the pictures of the three cottages together. Thanks S!)

  1. Such a sweet lane! I love the sunflower wallpaper, it just seems to suit the Milk rabbits so well.

So do you actually have 3 of these? Or one that is used as all? Either way you are very talented in making them look so individual & suited to each family

  2. What a great post! I love the lane - it looks so realistic! Every house is pretty, so I can't really decide, but I especially like the kitchen of the Petites and Patches and the bedroom of Abdrey and Blanka :)

    1. Very surprising, thank you! I really was worried that the wallpaper is too much.

  5. Hello Eaton Blackberry!!

I absolutely love this project!! :)) You have put so much love and thought into this! I am sure all the families are ecstatic about being able to live in their own homes now with so much more privacy! :D

I find all three cottages very nicely furnished, but I would say my favourite is the Rabbit family's cottage, as its interior seems the cosiest and most complete. The wallpaper may seem a bit much (very seventies? :D ), but it does blend in well with the darker furniture!! :))

    Best wishes from Riverside,
    Nina

  7. How cute cottages! I didn't realise you had only one of them, until the very end of the post + first comments. So clever of you to furnish the same place for several families :) I adore Andreys and Blankas place, it seems cosiest (awesome to see the bedding xD), but they are all wonderful.

    1. The bedding is actually for the Maces but I use the other side of the bedding in their house. Good eye to catch it!

  8. Congratulations on your new street! You made a very good job! I thought you had three carry cases!! The first picture is so good!
The three of them are lovely!. I like the Patche´s kitchen, so well equiped in such a small space. I really like the wallpaper you used in the Petite´s house. Blankas and Andreys place looks so cheerful!I like their bedroom and the kitchen is also very nice with an armachair and everything. I like the way you personalized each of them to suit each family.
It´s very nice the fact they also have a garden . Can I ask you where did you get those white fences? I´m trying to look forsomething like that but I can´t find them anywhere.

  9. Thank you Cutata. It was hard to make each different, but I thought the different wallpaper and furniture helped.
The white fences are actually lego duplo, and what is even worse it is the 'knock-off' version. Happy farm or something. But they fit so perfectly!

  10. Wow,I also did not realise that you only had one of these until I got to the end and comments! You have made them all individual. They are all lovely, my personal favourite is the Petites, I love Margaret's make up counter and all the colours of wallpaper, furniture and accessories blend so nicely.
Congratulations! CC Lane is lovely, great idea to have the little cottages for small families.
