Applewood Cottage

After a month of moving in, cleaning and unpacking the Maces family are finally settled in their new home. They moved to Sugarbush Valley from the Big City and Father Spencer will soon open the Country Market, which he will run and manage.

They were lucky enough to find a building with a small cottage on top of the market that they made their home. Mother Arvey christened it Applewood Cottage.

It soon became evident to Arvey and Spencer that to fit a family of five into such a small house they needed to to make a mind shift about the use of space. After some head scratching and hours of planning this was the result:

Top floor: kitchen and dining area

Ground floor: sleep- and bathroom

Although small the cottage has everything Arvey and her family desires. They are looking forward to spending time in their lovely new home.

A dream home

Sebastiaan and Katrina have been living in Sugarbush Valley for more than fourteen years now, but only recently managed to buy their dream home, Meadowcroft Cottage. The previous owners moved to the Big City and was in a hurry to sell, so they got the Cottage for next to nothing.

They managed to occupy the house shortly after the transaction was sealed and immediately started to refurbish it. 

Katrina is a perfectionist, and although she loves beautiful things, she prefers simplicity. This shines through in how her house was furnished and decorated.

Katrina and her family really loves their new home. Katrina especially loves the fact that their are a place for everything and everything is in its place.

 

A busy day at the market

The Blackberry family have been living in Sugarbush Valley for some time now and is very happy here. They love the friendliness of their fellow residents, and no ones thinks they are "weird" for preferring to live in a caravan. The villagers love visiting them in their camp and their annual "Harvest Moon Celebration" is a popular event.

What makes them even more popular is the produce they sell at their Fresh Produce Market and Juice Bar.

Father Bob sells anything from an apple to a zucchini at his market, as long as it is fresh, while Mother Betty sells freshly squeezed juice, smoothies and home made jams.


Today was as busy as any other day. The first customers were the Corntops, Betty's Cousin Christabel and her family often drops by just for a quick hello and a delicious smoothie.

Pippa only uses Betty's delicious jams for her equally delicious muffins. Most of the time Pippa buys all jars on offer.

Next to drop by was Katrina Whiskers, she desperately needed a break from revamping the village florist and enjoyed a refreshing smoothie. She brought Betty a basket of roses.

Hugo brought his daughter, Nellie, with him to buy some fruit for the children's lunch packs.

After living from take-aways for the past couple of weeks, Arvey Maces wanted to treat her family with a home cooked meal and was surprised to find all the right ingredients at Bob's market.

After a long and busy, but very successful day of trading, the Blackberries felt content and celebrated with a fresh drink that Ingrid made.

The Trunks celebration party

To celebrate the completion of Cedar Terrace, the Trunks decided to have a little party. They would invite everyone in town even the new residents.

There was some preparations to be done first:

Savannah made some delicious treats

Hugo saw to it that Ivor took a decent bath

While Nellie watched the twins

Then the guests arrived, first the Henry-Lloyds. Pippa had to help Savannah with some of the cooking

Then the Corntops arrived, Ingrid was glad to see her friend, Kirsty. With no one watching Eaton saw the chance for a little fun on the slide.

With his wife being away on business, Bob was quite hungry and eyeing the food

With all the guests present the party was in full swing

The men talked sports

The women discussed the grand opening of the new Country Market at the end of the month

The older children eyed the food

and the babies enjoyed teasing the mini turtles

"Look, look!" Someone shouted. "It is Betty!

And yes surely it was Betty Blackberry, surprising everyone, as she was only expected back later from her trip

Bob, Ingrid and little Eaton was ecstatic to see her again, and they had a intimate family moment.

Soon the party was underway again, and everyone enjoyed the food.

Meantime on the opposite part of town the new owners of the soon to open Country Market was hard at work. Every family member was busy doing their part.

After a few hours of hard work they decided to take a break, and head to the party at the Trunks home. (They received the invitation that morning when the woke up)

The doorbell interrupted the party and Savannah was very surprised, but also delighted to see the Maces (she didn't thought they will accept the invitation)

Introductions were made and the Maces quickly joined in the celebration

Zac and Ivor was especially pleased to have another soccer teammate

Too quickly the party was over and the guests start to head home.

Savannah insisted that Spencer, Arvey and the kids stay behind a bit longer and enjoyed some more of the food, as they arrived later and must be exhausted after their move and the unpacking.

The children had some more fun

After a lovely visit the Maces thanked the Trunks for their kindness and their hospitality. "Hope to do this again", Hugo said as he greeted Spencer. "Yes, please Arvey" giggled.
