The Maces Mouse Family

I have sort of started a new project. Besides, my stories that I do for pure pleasure and so that I have a chance to play with my families, I also want my blog to be a inventory of my village, i.e. who lives where and what to they do. I have sort of started with it and there were some pics up on the relevant pages, but I never really gave attention to it as I should have or wanted.

So I solemnly pledge that from now I will at least once a week ad a family's home and/or their workplace.

We will start of this new project with the Maces Family. Bear with my while I tell you a bit of background about them. They were my 6th family, which was a surprise in itself as when I started my collection, they weren't part of my initial plans, and I was really unsure if I wanted them at all. When I did my first big trade with my dearest SF friend I had some money left (she wanted many many many things) and I told her to use the money wisely and send me a surprise. Well the Maces were that surprise (according to her they were on sale at the local toys r us, and couldn't be passed over). Then surprise number two was when they became the FIRST family in village to have fully furnished home AND workplace. But most surprisingly of all was when I realised that they were one of my favorite families. So a big warning to all, they will conquer your heart and surprise you as only they can.

Well, surprise surprise, now they are also they first family to be introduced too!

A full view of the house and shop. As I wanted to fit in a bed for everyone as well as a bathroom I decided to make an attic like kitchen on the second floor, and to make the first floor of the house a bedroom. Their cottage fits perfectly on dad's store.

Mom Arvey is busy preparing dinner in the kitchen, while JC is finishing his.

Nichole and Mark in the bedroom. Homework is all done.

Lets have a closer look at all the rooms. First the kitchen. I always find it difficult to personalise areas, as I like a "clean" look. Small items can do wonders though. Some small pictures on the fridge, a basket of vegetables in the corner and candy jars on the fridge.

The dining area. I added a trimming of lace around the table with double sided tape for a softer look.

The kids "room". JC's favorite play telephone in his crib and Nichole just loves her blue teddy.

Parents "room" and bath "room". Again I tried to personalise it a bit with the picture frame and framed mirror.

Father Spencer Maces own the Market store and Mother Arvey runs a small tea room. Today her first patrons of the day is best friends Tilly Dappledawn and Grizabella Macavity.

A look inside the store. Spencer mainly sells gifts, books, baby supplies and toiletries, but also some emergency medical supplies.

Spencer had to honour his parents with a framed picture on the wall of the store. It is afterall they that taught him the secrets of the trade.

A busy day and of course Mable is there to see what new medicines Spencer has to offer for all her health issues.

At the end of a busy day Spencer like to restock the shelves and get the store ready for the following day before he closes up and heads upstairs for a hearty dinner.

Be sure to check my "houses" and "work" pages too.

    1. Sneak up on you is an understatement. I know of at least two other families that did the same - can you name them?
